Journalists escorted by the Indonesian Air Force's Kopasgat Troops |
"Dum", the sound of a loud explosion greeted the arrival of four rantis who brought a group of journalists with a tight bodyguard of Kopasgat Soldiers. Then followed a series of shots from various directions. Journalists who were equipped with protective gear (body armor) in the form of helmets and bullet vests were then taken out of the rantis to immediately take cover behind the rantis.
After conditions were declared safe, the journalists were herded into the forest and into the village. During the trip in the forest and into the village, another obstacle came with explosions and gunfire. But in the end everything was overcome because of the alertness of the Kopasgat guarding him.
The simulation above is an exercise, carried out by the Indonesian Air Force by deploying Kopasgat when escorting/protecting journalists while reporting on conflict areas. The activity themed "Outbound Media Dirgantara 2022: Collaboration between Air Force & Mass Media to Build the Nation", lasted two days at the Djamsuri shooting range, Command Wing I Kopasgat, Halim Perdanakusuma, Jakarta (14-15/12).
