Jakarta (Indonesia News) – The Indonesian Writers' Association, SATUPENA, will hold a discussion on the theme of Chinese New Year and Celebrating Diversity. This relates to the Chinese New Year, which has just been celebrated by many Chinese citizens. Will speak Azmi Abubakar, Founder of the Chinese Peranakan Library Museum. The discussion on Chinese New Year and Celebrating Diversity will be hosted by Anick HT and Amelia Fitriani. Azmi was born on March 3, 1972 is an activist and real estate entrepreneur from Aceh, studied at the Indonesian Institute of Technology (ITI) Serpong and became an activist in Jakarta in 1993-1995.

Initially becoming an activist during the May 1998 riots, he later founded the Chinese Peranakan Library Museum located in South Tangerang, Banten Province. According to the webinar committee, the Chinese New Year celebration in Indonesia is a momentum for diversity in the country.

This began with the issuance of Presidential Instruction No. 6 of 2000 issued by President KH Abdurrahman Wahid. The question is how the spirit of this Chinese New Year celebration can continue to be used as momentum, to celebrate diversity in the country.
