However, the Bintara Pembina Desa (Babinsa) who was born in Cirebon on July 7 1974 and joined the Indonesian Army in 1995, has a very noble role and task. Although he serves in his daily service as Babinsa in Marikangen Village, Plumbon District, Cirebon Regency, with a wide network of activities, it reaches all over the country.
What is Serka Sanija's noble duty? It turned out that he was very active in donating blood plus inviting the general public to do the same to help others who need blood, including thalassemia. That's why he uses four HP. “Because there are so many tissues that need blood. One cellphone is not enough memory, "said Sanija.
Because he has carried out this task - in addition to his main duties as a TNI soldier - since May 1997, now he has a very wide network of various agencies, both government and private, hospitals, and others, for those who need blood. Even when the Covid pandemic hit, Sanija continued to be active in helping many people who needed blood.

The following is an excerpt of a short interview between IndonesiaMandiri (IM) and Serka Sanija (SS) from the 2007 Koramil, Kodim 0620/Kab Cirebon, Korem 063 Sunan Gunung Jati, Kodam III/Siliwangi:
IM. What is the background for you to actively pursue blood donation so that it has grown widely until now?
SS. It all started when I was appointed as the blood donor family coordinator (KDD) in Cayumajakuning, Cirebon. At that time the awareness of blood donors was very low, which was the background for me to pursue it. Awareness of blood donors in the city and district of Cirebon is less than 1%, so many patients are not helped.
IM. Who moved your heart to do that?
SS. What moves my heart is of course God Almighty. As well as my family's experience which was not helped due to a shortage of blood stock at PMI at that time.
IM. What is your mechanism for creating a blood donor network throughout the country?
SS. Now we live in the era of technology, so online media is a means of communication and promotion. Because of that, my activities to socialize blood donors became easily known to the wider community. I also go directly to the community. This information is spread via social media.
IM. As a Soldier or Babinsa, of course you must report to the level above. How does the leadership respond to this blood donor activity?
SS. Leaders fully support and provide extraordinary support. My thanks go out to the elements that have given enthusiasm for this social action.
IM. What achievements/awards have you received so far?
SS. Among them, an award from the Dandim 0620/Cirebon District, an award from the Danrem 063/Sunan Gunung Jati, an award as a donor 75 times, an award for caring for Thalassemia patients, an award as an activator of blood donation
IM. What future targets do you want to achieve as a soldier?
SS. My target is of course to complete the duties and obligations as a member of the TNI until retirement. Hopefully my rank will rise, for pride for children and family.

IM. Your message to the younger generation regarding blood donation?
SS. Let's share. Be sensitive to the needs of our neighbors and relatives. With blood donors, we are healthy, they are safe. Blood donation as a way of life, if not us, then who? If not now, then when (abriyanto).
