After seeing the process, Angela headed to the Ulos Sianipar Gallery, which had been established since 1992. The Ulos Sianipar Gallery offers various types of crafts. Starting from ulos cloth, songket, clothes, bags, wallets, sandals, shoes, knick-knacks, to snacks. Angela also had the opportunity to buy some ulos cloth as a souvenir.
Ulos itself has a deep meaning for the Batak people. Ulos is likened to rattan or commonly called hotang in the Batak language. Rattan is known as a very strong binder. Therefore ulos is symbolized as a strong bond of affection in family relationships (ma).
