The Political Year actually challenged the parekraf sector to rise |
Jakarta, Indonesia News Present : "This political year is actually good for tourism and the creative economy (parekraf) because there are definitely a lot of activities in hotels," said Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno in the 2023 Indonesia Tourism Outlook (ITO) discussion entitled "Prospects for Tourism and Hospitality Industry Investment in the Political Year ” at Artotel Suites Mangkuluhur, Jakarta (18/1).
The event initiated by the Tourism and Creative Economy Journalists Forum (Forwaparekraf) under the leadership of Pasha Ernowo, has indeed been held annually since 2017, highlighting actual issues related to the development of the country's parekraf sector.
Sandiaga emphasized that there is nothing to worry about in a political year and investors do not need to wait or wait (wait and see) to invest. In fact, this political year is the best opportunity for investment, including in the parekraf sector and its supporters such as hotels.
"So if asked how the political year? don't worry bro! This political year is not a wait and see year but a year full of investment opportunities. So the tagline is 2023, don't wait and see, but invest immediately for tourism in Indonesia," explained Sandiaga, who is also a former entrepreneur and investor.
For information, this year the government is targeting an investment of Rp 1,400 trillion. Efforts to attract investors in the tourism sector are continuing, especially investment in 5 super priority destinations and tourism Special Economic Zones (KEK).
In the eyes of the world, the IMF, World Bank, ADB and OECD agencies are compact in projecting Indonesia's economic growth in 2023 in the range of 4.7% -5%. This figure is below the government's target of 5.3%.
Meanwhile, Managing Partner of Indies Capital Pandu Sjahrir said, "people see that Indonesia can host the G20 and is safe. This year we are also hosting the ASEAN Summit. God willing, we can carry out this task well, and I think it will also move the wheels of the economy, and the most important thing is the wheels of the tourism economy which must be developed more.”
