Jakarta, Indonesia News : TNI Marshal (Purn) Chappy Hakim, former Air Force Chief of Staff (Kasau) for the 2002-2005 period who also flew Hercules aircraft in the Indonesian Air Force, was so productive in turning his ideas into a book. More than 40 books have been produced and the public can enjoy them in a number of bookstores.
“Writing activity and productivity as a writer is a matter of intention and will. So what must be strengthened is the will," said Chappy, who is also Chair of the SATUPENA Advisory Board, Chappy Hakim, in a webinar in Jakarta (9/2).
The webinar was organized by the SATUPENA Indonesian Writers Association, chaired by Denny JA. The discussion was hosted by Elza Peldi Taher and Amelia Fitriani. Chappy describes the things he usually does, so he can become a writer who remains productive at the age of 75 (born December 17, 1947).
“I have a writing method. Namely, the first stage, I tried to pour everything that was in my head directly into writing. In the first stage, it was. Then, if you need a reference or want to emphasize, it will be at a later stage. Then, I re-read the writing, so that the written language can be as close as possible to spoken language," said Chappy.
Responding to questions from webinar participants, Chappy admitted that relying solely on writing for a living would be hard. Although there are indeed a number of writers who can live solely from writing.
“However, to be productive in writing, people don't have to be very rich first. Just enough to live alone, "he said. Chappy didn't want to use “lack of time” as an excuse to not be productive. "About there is no time, that's just an excuse. What matters is the intention!” he said.

What's interesting, Chappy explained, every time he has a birthday, at least one book can be published. This is because Chappy repays. Every week he writes at least two articles, so that after a year they are collected into at least one book. If there are additional writings, it becomes 2 books instead.
Writer Hamri Manoppo commented: “Two world philosophies wrote from Mr Chappy's impressions. First, writing makes me live. Secondly, I am never satisfied with the writings or books I have written.”
