Visit Beautiful West Sumatera ajak masyarakat jelajah keindahan Sumbar

Jakarta, Indonesia News Present : The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno appreciated the "Visit Beautiful West Sumatra 2023* program which has the potential to increase tourist visits to the province which is known for its natural beauty and culture.

"I appreciate West Sumatra Province which continues to move and innovate in advancing tourism and the creative economy through 'Visit Beautiful West Sumatra 2023' which is the year of West Sumatra tourist visits and supports the #DiIndonesiaAja travel movement," said Menparekraf in "The Weekly Brief With Sandi Uno " in a hybrid manner from the Sapta Pesona Building, Jakarta (30/1).

"Visit Beautiful West Sumatra 2023" was initiated by Wahyu Purnama from the West Sumatra Province Bank Indonesia representative office with the West Sumatra Provincial Government and tourism activists. this is a post-pandemic activation program to increase the number of tourist visits and encourage economic value and create jobs in all existing tourism sectors.

There are three main attractions for tourists coming to West Sumatra. Namely 'Special Nan Culture', 'Food of Nan Lamak and Lamak Bana', and 'Beautiful Nature'. All three are wrapped in a Calendar of Event & Digital Book which can be accessed via a QR scan or the website www.visitbeautifulwestsumatra.id.

"Congratulations and success for this year's 'Visit Beautiful West Sumatra' activation program. We hope this movement can spread hope and enthusiasm for the revival of tourism and the creative economy in Indonesia," said Sandiaga.

Deputy Governor of West Sumatra, Audy Joinaldy, said that this year's West Sumatra tourism visit was presented to boost the performance of the tourism sector and also the creative economy in West Sumatra which continues to grow.

In total there are 85 events that will take place throughout 2023 in 19 regencies/cities in West Sumatra. These include Tour de Singkarak, Saribu Rumah Gadang Festival, Pacu Itiak, Pacu Jawi, Tabuik, and many more.

"We predict that our tourism will increase in 2023. Based on that, we initiated the idea of Visit Beautiful West Sumatra 2023. Previously, we focused on domestic tourists, we had 8.2 million tourists, of which half disappeared during COVID-19. So, our goal is at least we want to return the other half in 2023," explained Audy (lw).
