The target of tourist visits is a benchmark for Parekraf development |
Jakarta, Indonesia News : The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno is optimistic that the performance targets for the development of the tourism and creative economy sectors based on the President's directives in the 2020-2024 RPJMN can be completed before President Joko Widodo's term of office ends.
Sandiaga expressed this at the Coordination Meeting of the 2023-2024 K/A Work Program and the Implementation of National Strategic KPIs, National Strategic Projects, Presidential Promises, Major Projects, SDGS, and Presidential Directives which took place at Balairung Soesilo Soedarman, Sapta Pesona Building, Jakarta (8 /2).
Now, one of the development focuses that will be completed soon is the five Super Priority Tourism Destinations (DPSP). For example, Likupang is still constrained in terms of land and infrastructure, such as the availability of clean water. The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy will strengthen collaboration and coordination with relevant ministries/agencies to accelerate development and resolve obstacles that are still encountered in the field.
"We are targeting everything related to the five Super Priority Tourism Destinations to be completed by the end of 2023 or mid-2024," said Sandiaga. Another target is the movement of domestic tourists by 1.4 billion in 2023. This is a fairly large target.
Mobile positioning-based data is needed that can calculate the absolute number of tourist movements. Meanwhile for foreign tourists, Menparekraf will issue real data every month. So that the visits of foreign tourists can be monitored every month. Until it reaches the target upper limit of 7.4 million movements.
The GDP of the parekraf sector to the Indonesian economy itself is currently still below 4 percent. Meanwhile, the GDP target for the parekraf sector in 2023 is 4.1 percent. "But I'm sure, if we continue to make improvements, we will achieve this in 2024 above the target of 4.2 percent," said Menparekraf.
