Jakarta, Indonesia News Present : The Indonesian Writers' Association, SATUPENA, will hold a discussion on the theme "Ethnicity and Identity: Opportunities and Challenges in West Kalimantan." Ethnicity is an important part of Indonesian human existence. The Hati Pena Chat #74 will be held in Jakarta on Thursday, 2 February 2023, 19.00-21.00 WIB.
Will talk Dr. Rosadi Jamani, lecturer at UNU (Nahdlatul Ulama University) West Kalimantan. The discussion on Ethnicity and Identity will be hosted by Swary Utami Dewi and Karyani Tri Tialani. The webinar committee stated that since ancient times until today, Indonesia has been inhabited by thousands of ethnicities and subethnicities, from Sabang to Merauke.
They have been an important part of Indonesia for generations since the pre-independence era, independence, and the development of the current digital culture era. However, ethnicity is also not only seen as a matter of identity on family cards and statistical survey materials. Ethnicity is an important matter in Indonesia's local and national dynamics, related to the economy, politics, defense and security, even inter-ethnic allusions.
Are ethnicity and identity a blessing or a disaster? What is the role of writers and researchers, in an effort to manage the dynamics of inter-ethnic relations, so that they become a blessing for the nation and state? How should literature and other works be involved in this endeavor? These questions will try to be answered in the webinar.
