LHK Minister Siti Nurbaya inaugurated nature tourism and research/education facilities in Komodo National Park |
This follows up on the inauguration of Komodo National Park as a Super Priority Tourism Destination by President Joko Widodo in June 2022. The facilities were fully built by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing on Rinca Island, namely international standard and environmentally friendly infrastructure.
Educational and interpretation infrastructure includes the Komodo Information Center area complex named "Niang Komodo" and its supporting infrastructure, including elevated deck roads, lodging (for rangers, researchers and tour guides), rest posts, guard posts/ticketing, SPAM for drinking water networks, reservoirs, docks and coastal protection.
Siti said that the development of TNK as one of the Super Priority Tourism Destinations (DPSP) had come a long way since mid-2016. And of course also the previous efforts of The New Seven Wonder.
We also know that KNP is also a World Heritage. Direct and technical field directions were given by the President during numerous fieldwork visits to various related Ministries apart from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, such as PUPR, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, and even BNPB, Basarnas and others.
The Ministry of Environment and Forestry continues to explore integrated steps with a requirements approach in a land use plan, namely: tourism technical requirements, management requirements, and conservation requirements.
"I am very grateful that we have arrived at this phase now for premium tourism on Komodo Island. This is all due to the hard work of all parties, the government, local government and the community, leaders and actors of tourism services. Political support is also very important in this effort. Thank you for all of that,” said Siti.

KNP is a world heritage that must be preserved together |
It is hoped that the utilization of nature tourism infrastructure on Rinca Island can echo the form of the Indonesian Government's firmness and seriousness in maintaining environmental sustainability in the eyes of the world. The Loh Buaya nature tourism infrastructure should be functionally useful.
"I thank all members of the community, to Pater Marsel, Deny and Achmad (Komodo Survival Program), to the rangers, the indigenous people who live in the Komodo National Park who we always look after and look after us, the Regional Government, and of course the Ministry of Works. Public and Public Housing. We will explore better things," said Siti (ma).
